Timberkits - beam engine model
The Beam Engine is an attractive model which shows how this machinery used to be driven by steam. It incorporates James Watts special linkage that enabled him to make the steam locomotive.
Timberkits are wooden moving models that you make yourself.
After the model has been completed, it can be customised without the hassle of specialist tools. Just use paint or varnish
They were first made in a cowshed in the hills of mid-Wales in the early 'nineties. Now, 15 years later they are still unique and popular with the sort of people who like to use their hands as well as their heads.
The wooden kits are made with New Zealand pine, which is sustainably sourced, gives a precise finish, a pleasant feel and a warm natural colour.
